Overview
The Surgery Center of Southern Oregon has been providing multi-specialtysurgical services for our local communities since 1997. The Sterile ProcessingTechnician plays a crucial role in the healthcare environment by ensuring thatall surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned,sterilized, and maintained.

We are seeking a full timeSterile Processing Technician for a fast-paced multi-specialty ambulatorysurgery center. Work hours 10-hour Mon-Thur 0730-6:00pm variable dependent onsurgery needs. (Occasional Fridays optional)

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING ANDEXPERIENCE

  • At least 1 year experience in sterile processing     preferred
  • Certification strongly preferred (or will obtain     certification within the first year of employment)
  • Possess the ability to function independently in a     fast-paced multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center
  • Possess excellent communication skills and a positive,     team focused attitude as well as the ability to remain focused on patient     safety and excellence in all aspects of job duties
  • Functions in a highly dynamic environment while     maintaining the ability to remain calm and prioritize appropriately during     periods of increased demand.

Job Type: Full-timeThe SurgeryCenter adheres to CDC and OHA infection control guidelines.

Duties

  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments     and medical equipment according to established protocols.
  • Perform routine inspections of sterilization equipment     to ensure proper functioning.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of sterile supplies     and equipment, including tracking usage and restocking as necessary.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques during the handling of     sterile items to prevent contamination.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand     specific needs for surgical procedures.
  • Document all sterilization processes and maintain     compliance with health regulations and standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education related     to sterile processing practices.
